IFC World Bank User Research
IFC/World Bank Research
The International Finance Corporation is a part of the World Bank dedicated to helping jump-start industries within countries through capital and knowledge infusions. We were called in to define requirements for what their internal constituents needed from an intranet.
My Role
I worked as a user researcher, conducting one-on-one interviews and auditing the site to better understand usage patterns.
Part of our analysis process involved mapping out patterns of communication.

Explorations
The bankers were extremely busy, so we set up discussion groups to get feedback. Part of these exercises was a creative component that had small teams drawing what they thought their ideal website would be. Having users prioritize their needs in such a concrete way allowed us to make improvements.

Solution
Our analysis showed how bottlenecks were limiting critical input from the field that would be useful to upper management, and how additional opportunities could be acheived for management to communicate strategic direction. Our recommendations centered around an interactive prototype to be built for proof of concept.
